FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS  -  ANSWERED!

Can I use my new Gold number on PAYG or only on a monthly contract?

You can use your Gold Number on any network or tariff of your choice; either PAYG or on pay monthly contract, with any UK mobile service provider, e.g. Orange, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Virgin, O2, 3G, Tesco Mobile, Fresh etc.

UPDATE:  Vodafone may make a transfer charge if you are currently on a contract. Please contact them directly to check your status.

What do I do with my new Gold Number SIM when it arrives?

If you are happy to use the Network and PAYG tariff the number is currently with, just insert the new SIM into your phone, switch on, and call the Network to register the new number to your name. It's as simple as that. Should you want to use your current Network and contract tariff, see next question.

How do I transfer this new Gold Number onto my Network?

The process is called 'Porting', and to do this you request a Port Access Code (PAC).

When you receive your Gold Number SIM pack, just call that Network Provider (the number is in the booklet) and register your details to the number.

Should you want to use your new Gold Number with your existing network, just request the Port Access Code during the same phone call, then pass it on to your existing service provider.

Your old number will be replaced with the new number within days.

One last note: please remember to top-up your new number with at least the minimum amount (£5 / £10) and make a chargeable call or send a text. Your new number will receive calls without the top-up, but it will not be properly activated by the network and will be de-activated without notice - meaning you have lost the number and cannot get it back.

Is there a fee for the PAC code I request from the network?

No, transferring numbers between networks is free of charge.

UPDATE:  Vodafone may make a transfer charge if you are currently on a contract. Please contact them directly to check your status.

Do I need to unlock my phone to use my new Gold Number?

No, there is no need to unlock your phone if you want to use your new Easy Gold Number with your current network provider. It's only necessary to unlock your phone if you wish to totally change your network provider for a new, more economical tariff. However, not all phones are locked, you will know if it is by a message on your phone when you insert a new SIM.

Should you need or want to unlock your phone, please see our Mobile Phone Unlocking link for instant unlock codes for all popular brands of phones; Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Blackberry, LG etc

How do I buy an Easy Gold Number?

Look through our current number lists. When you find a number you would like, just click on the BUY NOW link next to that number. You will then be taken to a secure page to enter your card details and postal address. When you have completed the payment process you will be returned to the Easy Gold Numbers website. Please note, to prevent credit card fraud we can only mail the SIM pack to the address registered to the credit card. If it is for a gift, you will need to forward the SIM pack yourself to the person you wish to gift it to.

Is it safe to enter my credit card details on your website?
Perfectly - we adopt the latest technology to ensure your details are carried securely. Upon entry, your details are encrypted and processed by either Paypal or Google Checkout secure servers. Only our Credit Card Processor sees your credit card details at any point during the transaction. Paypal and Google Checkout are 128Bit SSL secure sites. On any page where sensitive information is requested, you will see the Secure Server Page icon - a small padlock - at the bottom right, or top right of your screen.

Do I need a Paypal account to pay?

No, Paypal is our credit and debit card processor, you do not need to have or open a Paypal account in order to purchase your Easy Gold Number. When you click on the CHECKOUT button, you will be taken to the Paypal site to complete your delivery details and payment.

Our alternative payment processor is Google Checkout. If you already have a Google Checkout account, it makes the payment process even faster. If you wish to use this processor, but do not have an account, just tick the box to open an account during the payment process. Both payment methods are really quick, simple and hassle free.

How will I receive my new Gold Number?

Your new Easy Gold Number SIM pack will be sent to you within 48 hrs of your payment confirmation. It will be mailed by Royal Mail First Class Delivery, AND WILL NEED TO BE SIGNED FOR.

The postage and packing charge is only £2.99.

Anything else I should know?

Yes, if you intend to use your new Easy Gold Number on a PAYG tariff, be aware that all network providers require you to make a chargeable phone call once every 3 to 6 months (networks vary, so please check with your service provider). If you let it lapse, you will lose your number. The networks do this so they can re-issue unused numbers to new customers in the future.

I have a problem, can I have a refund?

All our SIM card packs are new and sealed. It is extremely rare for a SIM card not to work. If it does not work on your phone it is usually because your phone is locked to another network (Please see the phone unlocking question and link above).

However, if you have already registered your new SIM card as instructed in your SIM card pack, and you are having a problem of any sort, you should either telephone the Network or visit the Network shop. They will be able to assist you very easily as they have access to your account details and can also check your phone for faults.

If the SIM card is found to be faulty, we will of course offer a refund or replacement.

We are sorry, but it is not our policy to offer a refund on issues other than a faulty product; i.e. changed mind, unwanted gift, etc.

My question isn't listed here - can you provide me with an answer?
Certainly - feel free to email us support@easygoldnumbers.co.uk  and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
